San Mateo Celebrates is a weeklong National Library Week festival (April 18–25), featuring free events at the Main Library and outreach across the city. We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help create a welcoming, well-run experience for all.
Volunteers needed: 2–4 Overview: Duties: Assist with layout and placement of exhibits (in coordination with staff) Hang and align framed pieces Install signage and supporting materials Ensure clean, polished presentation of all visual elements Support minor adjustments or touch-ups during event week as needed Preferred Skills: Experience with gallery or museum installation Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness Comfortable using basic tools (level, hooks, mounting hardware)
Where: Main Library
Time: Flexible shifts in the 1–2 weeks leading up to the festival (plus optional light touch-ups during event week)
We are seeking volunteers with gallery, museum, or exhibition installation experience to assist with installing visual components of San Mateo Celebrates. This includes framed works, signage, and small-scale installations throughout the library.
