San Mateo Celebrates is a weeklong National Library Week festival (April 18–25), featuring free events at the Main Library and outreach across the city. We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help create a welcoming, well-run experience for all.
Number of volunteers needed: 12-18
Where: Main Library
Time:
- Set-up: 8:00 – 10:00 AM
- Event shifts: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (2-hour rotations)
- Breakdown: 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Qualifications:
- Age 14 and older
- Enjoys interacting with Public
- Good communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow directions clearly
- Able to lift and/or carry 25 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Set up booths and activity stations
- Greeters / welcome table
- Activity + booth support
- Wayfinding and crowd flow
- Breakdown
