San Mateo Celebrates is a weeklong National Library Week festival (April 18–25), featuring free events at the Main Library and outreach across the city. We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help create a welcoming, well-run experience for all.

Farmers’ Market Kickoff with Mateo the Library Outreach Van — Saturday, April 18

Volunteers needed: 4–6
Where: College of San Mateo
Time Commitment: 8:30am–1:30pm (2–4 hour shifts)

Qualifications:

  • Age 14 and older
  • Enjoys interacting with the public
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to understand and follow directions clearly
  • Able to lift and/or carry 20lbs max

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and break down booth (table, signage, materials)
  • Engage with public; promote festival + key events
  • Distribute flyers and direct to QR code / event info
  • Provide high quality customer service
