Who We Are
The City of San Mateo Senior Center offers a variety of programs to San Mateo residents and to all surrounding neighborhoods. Our programs range from fitness, dance, art & leisure classes to educational, awareness and health & wellness classes. Some programs have a fee while others are free, but all programs require registration. The San Mateo Senior Center heavily relies on volunteers for many of our day-to-day operations. Volunteer opportunities within the Center programs include but are not limited to:
- Bay Tree Bistro- Senior Lunch program server
- BINGO Callers & assistants
- Instructor for “Coloring the Stress Away” Program
- Movie Discussion Volunteer
- Senior Center Receptionist & Greeter
- Services Link Assistant- focused on SASH program
- Technology Program
What We Do
The Senior Center provides programs for our community to stay healthy, stay connected to various resources and to stay engaged and connected to each other and to meet new friends. Socialization is extremely important; we want to stay connected to the community and make a difference in their lives.
We are always looking for community members to become a volunteer so that they may share and teach others their skills and/or their favorite hobby. If this sounds interesting to you, we would love to hear from you.
