Who We Are
The San Mateo Parks & Recreation Dance & Fitness program offers more than 85 adult classes and 30 youth classes each week, running year-round. These classes span a wide range of movement styles and are designed for all ages and ability levels.
Recognizing that performance is a key aspect of dance, our Youth Dance program features two major annual events: the Winter SNOWcase in the fall and the Spring Dance Show in June.
Volunteer opportunities within the program include, but are not limited to:
-
Performance Support
-
Dance Crew
-
Co-hosts/Monitors
What We Do
At San Mateo Parks & Recreation, our Dance, Fitness, and Recreation programs are built on the belief that a rich and engaging class experience can inspire a lifelong love of movement, wellness, and active living. Whether it's dance, fitness, or recreation-based programming, all of our classes are held in a supportive, non-competitive environment and are led by dedicated, expert instructors in their respective fields.
Our programs bring together innovative teachers to offer meaningful opportunities for participants of all ages and abilities. We also recognize the importance of social connection and strive to build community through every class and activity, promoting wellness and joy in ways that make a lasting impact.
We’re always looking for passionate community members to volunteer in our youth and adult programs. If you’re interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you!
