Responsibilities:

Assist with crowd control Use of puppetry for welcoming participantsActively participating in songs and rhymes Clean Storytime props Maintain safe and clean environment for Library patrons Provide high quality customer service

Selection and Training: Attend a volunteer orientation

Time Commitment: 1–2 hour shift, 1 day a week

The Police Activities League Jr. Giants Summer League, running from June 8th through August 1st, is more than just a baseball program, it’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact in the community. As a volunteer, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive, supportive environment where kids can learn teamwork, build confidence, and stay active throughout the summer.

Volunteering with the league means spending your time outdoors, engaging with youth, and helping guide them both on and off the field. Whether you’re coaching, assisting with activities, or simply being a positive presence, your involvement helps shape meaningful experiences for every participant. It’s a rewarding way to give back, connect with the community, and be part of something truly special.

This portal will serve as your hub for tracking and logging all of your volunteer hours throughout the season. Thank you for being part of an amazing experience and for helping make this summer unforgettable for our players.

This opportunity is dedicated to supporting the process through which books (and other materials) from the library's collection and public donations are discarded. Materials that are deemed discards are nonetheless handled with care so that they can reach the next phase of their life, whether that means being resold by an external vendor or being recycled.

In this volunteer role, you will:

Scan discard materials (books and media) and separately them accordingly. Prepare materials for pick-up. Handle, carry, and move loaded boxes.Potentially take on other tasks relevant to discarded materials.

Please note: Due to the nature of this opportunity's tasks, interested volunteers should be able to lift boxes that weigh between 25-40 lbs.
